In addition to GIS, I have also done spatial data analysis within Python. Here is a poster showing a big data analysis project where I analyzed the world ecoregions as defined by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), and assessed how trends in protected areas change across different biomes. It was good practice working with huge datasets! I used Protected Planet’s World Database on Protected Areas to see how much of each ecoregion was considered protected.
Unfortunately, our grasslands and dry tropical forests around the global are very poorly protected.
